This is a Woodcarving done on Poplar. 22 Little Sea Turtles hatching out & headed for the sea. I grew up on the coast & love little sea turtles. There are also 3 unhatched eggs, and 2 shells. I didn’t stain this piece but added some acrylic on the shells & turtles. Then I finished it with Polycrylic.
It measures 18 3/4 by 12 1/2.

Interesting piece. Are the turtles carved into the main piece, or are they added on individually?

Thanks for the nice comments. In answer to JayJay. The turtles are carved in the Main piece. I really enjoy carving beach themes, I can’t wait to start the next one.
