I did this a few years ago..

I did this before I had a clue. I used HomeDepot 1×6 Pine, 2×4’s and lots of screws..

I did not make the base wide enough. So I had to screw it to the wall.

It has served a great purpose.

If I were to do it again it would be deeper and smaller.

Oh well we live and learn…

Good Idea maybe 1×8 would fit the bill a little better next time.

Still nice workmanship. We all learn, if we pay attention.

I believe I learn something with every project I do, it is natural.

I feel your bookcase still turned out very nice..
