So if you read yesterday you knew I was working on a short dovetail saw. Too bad I opened my big mouth about selling it on Instagram before I had it done, because now I really want to keep it. But I will honor my pledge and it will be for sale tomorrow. If you are interested in purchasing it you will have to watch my feed there. I will have it up about 6am tomorrow morning and we will see how it goes.
My instagram account PST 6:00 am Thursday 29th
I was going to ask $200 for it. I am not making a dime on it as I have way too much labor into this one, but it was a lot of fun. I welcome your comments if I am too high or low, hopefully low ;)
It was a departure from my regular style and I really like the look. It took a few passes to get just the right tooth geometry to have it cut they way I like, but it works great. It has a 6” blade with 18ppi rip and a beech handle.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Thanks, excited to hear what you think about the saw and the price.

Beautiful saw. $200 sounds good to me!

What kind of finish did you use?

Well I am hoping for more reaction when I post this thing for sale in 1/2 hour. Thank you Matt, it is a lacquer/wax finish.

Beautiful tool, Brian, but what do you do with a 6in saw? An 8in saw is usually too short for my taste, so I can’t imagine using something even shorter.

It would be perfect for making jewelry boxes or small detailed drawers. I have used it for a day now and love it.
