I finished this Coffee table today. I made almost totally out of 2×4’s. The skirt is made from 1×3 Pine. The legs are 2×4’s as well. I enjoyed distressing the top of the table. I think it works pretty well in the room. It is similar to the coffee table on the side of the couch well, the top is the same the skirt and legs are different between the two.

How did you finish it?

Great results considering the source materials. Distressing does make the difference.

RC, reminds me a lot of the furniture I used to deliver as a part-time job when I was in the service. The company is still in business. Check out www.thisendup.com.

JJohnston….. As far as finishing I applied a coat of stain to get down into all the cracks and crevices once that was dry I sanded the majority of it off. Did some additional distressing and then I stained the entire thing all over again. Then I sprayed it with about 4 coats of flat clear.
