Very nice case, sawdust. Where did you get the inspiration for this case? It seems to keep the fiddle perfectly safe while presenting it like true heirloom masterpiece.

The case is fairly straight forward, and is based upon some other cases I have done. The head scratching part of this project was designing and machining parts to hold the fiddle in place without damaging the instrument. I came up with a cradle, also made of walnut, radiused to fit the curve of the instrument, and added semi-circular walnut clips to hold the fiddle down.

This is very nice! I want to build something similar to house an original cirque du soleil mask with long peacock feathers. Any hints on how to build and what is the best way to display the mask without making the box too big (because of the feathers) and without having to bend the feathers to fit? Thanks!

Looked what popped up on the shuffle – a case for a fiddle. This looks very much like a small box to me, and I just love small wooden boxes!

Really nice! A great idea and wonderful to look at.
