Dragon support column

This is a project that my wife talked me into. It is made out of cherry and took six months. I had to make a carving jig and rent a scaffolding to erect it. The column is 16’ tall and the dragon if stretched out would be 10’ long. It is a Mandarin royal dragon.

Love your project ! Bold and amazing think this is a great concept well done and that a real nice lump of cherry.

Very nice! Cherry!? That stuff is hard to carve. We have a vaulted ceiling like that. Hope my wife doesn’t see this and get ideas.
