Black Walnut with Brass Inlay

I have a customer who loves Black Walnut when I started this piece the small cracks became larger, didn’t know what to do. Decided to fill the voids with brass that I had from a lock smith, so a little filings and CA building slowly until the voids were over filled. Then sanded and finished with multiple coats of polyurethane then buffed.

Great job saving the bowl with the brass. Seems like whenever I work with walnut, a crack always wants to appear.

Nice bowls outthere. I like this one due very beautiful dark wood colour and glossy finish.

Great finish on your bowls Chuck. I like the looks of Black Walnut and find it’s a nice hard wood to work with.
