For this chapter in the Dynamo Men saga, the mechanism – a double Geneva Stop – came first.
You can find information on the stop here … https://www.robives.com/mechanisms/geneva

After some careful cutting and sanding, and an hour of tuning, I managed to come up with a working assembly. And then it was on to putting a couple Dynamo Men to work.

I had them facing each other on a platform. Boring. Been there, done that. So I flipped one to create a parallel universe. And because this kind of arrangement can only exist in a zero-gravity environment,
Space Station Dynamo Men became the title for the lamp.

The red balls were an afterthought embellishment, but I think they’re the icing on the cake. Besides generating power for the light bulb, the guys are now exercising with “medicine balls”.

As you’ll see in the video … https://vimeo.com/183931326 ... their timing has to be exact.

Bravo! Good work. I like this partial/slow motion of your figurines.

I just think it’s really fun in your shop. Great as always.

THEY’RE NOT GEARS. IT’S A DOUBLE GENEVA STOP.

Am I shouting?

I’m half up and half down about this project. ( Maybe it’s those GEARS ) Every movement is like the tick of a clock.
Cool one John.

Good eye, Dave !!!

The double Geneva Stop—a.k.a gears—is run by a 30-rpm motor.
Because the stop is doubled, the movements are exactly one second apart.

Give yourself a prize. :-)
