This mantel is African Mahogany with an inlaid band of Wenge. The surface of the mantel as well as the bevel was planed by hand. The mantel is supported by 3/4” diameter steel rods that are inserted into fireplace header and back of mantel. Finish is an oil / varnish mix. September 2006.

Very elegant. I really like the inlay.

Thank you. It does not show well in the photos but the Wenge is a bit proud of the Mahogany, it adds an interesting detail.

This one is really simple and nice in design. I would like it more than som of the very elaborate mantles that are full of beads and routed patterns or carved. This appeals so much more to me
