This expandable dining table is crafted from reclaimed heart pine. It features a 42 inch round top expandable to a 57 inch long oval table. The base is custom made with 8 sides, custom feet attached with mortise and tenon joinery, and the column was turned on my lathe to give the profile shown.

The color is natural and was first warmed up with dewaxed shellac and then with 3 coats of a satin acrylic poly sprayed on.

I love the reclaimed top. Little wormholes, nice color.

Carey,
Nice work,
A question, where did you get the linear gear mechanism and what is it called?

Hi robscastle and thank you. I got the table extension slides from Rockler. I’ll put a link to them below. They are smooth operating and can be opened and closed with one hand!!!

I like how it is designed, very space saving, and since it is made of natural wood, it seems to last for long. I wish I could also find the same as I am eyeing this store http://www.javateakoutdoorfurniture.com/ to find unique and quality table.

Have your say...
