Alright, I was sitting at my dads house one day after work and thought to myself, i want to build something. Well, keep in mind before this i’ve never built anything outside of a skateboard ramp. So I walked out, grabbed a peice of scrap wood and wrote my sons name on it (Oakley). From there i began to cut it out with a band saw and during that process I got a great idea of adding the letter M in the background (represents his last name). So i stopped, free handed the letter M, then began my cutting! So outcame this “shape” and i wasn’t yet satisfied so i carved out the letters of his name in an attempt to give it this three dimensional looked, worked out alright i think. Well, still unsatisfied i decided to add a little “bling” (wish i wouldnt of) so i added the silver than began to work on staining it. After a couple coats of stain i got yet another idea! My dad has had this torch laying around FOREVER. I used to sneak in the garage and play with it so i wanted to incorporate that into this peice; so i attempted to give it a rustic look. Came out ok id say! not bad for my first peice EVER.
Now im more into wood working, learned alot about woods and techniques and im ready to start building some bigger better things!
P.S. I had no intentions on getting this thing to stand on the M; somehow the measurements worked out and it stands perfectly!
More to come soon, I promise!
