As I made this I could’nt help but think of, and I hope I don’t offend anyone, the cup of Christ. I had cut myself and blood had gotten on it and some latin from my alter boy days came to me, gullgotha, skullplace. Where jesus was crucified. I know this is the celebration of his birth, but we forget why he was born and brought into this world. It was to suffer and die for us. Let us rejoice in his birth and remember why he was given to us. Merry Christmas. mike

Hi Mike,
No offense to me as I always knew the ending was better then the beginning.
”Ressurection Life”
”Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure”; —Isaiah 46:10
And as workers of wood is that not what we are doing, when we take a dead form of wood and create an image of life out of the wood. I have watched the faces on children and adults when they connect with a piece of wood art and then to see the smile break forth. As workers of wood we truly can be; harbingers of peace, joy and life!!!
Nice story Mike, that you have shown us in your cup and yes, I can hear that piece of wood talking.
Have a great day!!!
GODSPEED,
Frank

I understand what you were saying, that was my first thought “Wow, that’s the kind of cup the Master would have drank from.” Makes you wonder if there were any “Jesus of Nazareth Signature Series” cups, plates or bowls throughout the land. I’ll bet they were hot items to be had, back in the day. And I’ve never been one to be “Politically Correct”.

What type of wood is it made from? I like it. There’s nothing wrong with thinking of Christ or that you think your cup could have been his while woodworking. Christ was a woodworker, too.

I saw this yesterday and it came to mind again whilst I was making sawdust today so I came back for another look! I like this honest little vessel a lot. Resurrected after 302 days.
