The Archangels are now in the last stages of production. Will give some coats of clear Estapol after the clients have seen and approved of the colors. The Archangels are:-
1. St Michael 3 foot from toe to wing tip – colored with a mixture of wood dye and acrylic paint
2. St Uriel 2 foot tall – colored with Wood dyes
3. St Gabriel 2 ” ” – colored with acrylic paint
4. St Raphael 2 ” ” – ” ” ” ”
5. St Michael 2 ” ” – ” ” ” ” (this is a different version but not liked by clients))

I love your depiction of Angels. They are how I see them in my minds eye.

Good job, Bob. These remind me alot of the guardian angel I made last year for my daughter, see! : )

Thanks for the above comments. Nice looking guardian angel Kolwdwrkrsgirl, love the detail and the finish, what did you use, I still have to do the final coat. Really like your other four carvings, time you posted more.

Bob,
I have actually been working on a new carving project for several months….it seems that sometimes all I can afford to work on it is 10 or 15 minutes a week (especially last month around the holidays)....so at this rate I’ll be lucky if I manage to get it done by the summer! HA!!
I didn’t use anything fancy to finish the angle….just painted it with simple Delta paints from the local craft store, and finished it off with a coat of Delta semi-gloss poly….also from the local craft store.

Heidi, Look forward to seeing your new project, time is always the thing we haven’t enough of. Particularly liked your relief carving of the butterflies. Thanks for the info on your painting and finish.
Once the people have seen these I will finish them with a clear gloss estapol (similar to poly….).
P.S. Got you name from your profile, hope you don’t mind.
