Project Information

5 out of 6 are from Lois Ventura's book. The # 8 is for a friend who is celebrating her 8th anniversary at her store. I want to thank Randy/Blackie, for the Spalted Hackberry he sent me a while ago. I appreciate the blocks, and finally got something done out of another one.. lol the other five are just scraps of Walnut, Oak, and Cherry, with some added scraps of exotic woods for the handles. Finished with Minwax water base poly (4 coats). Interiors are all leather lined. Some are hand tooled. (bought from Tandy Leather here in Louisville). Thnx for checkin in, and you know the drill…..............good/bad/ugly, etc….

Here are a few more pics of the interiors. I like those tooled/embossed leather liners. Seems to give it a bit of extra drawer bling.

The problem with BS boxes are they are addictive. Yours are very nice. I like the leather liners - might have to look for a Tandy here and see what I can come up with.

Those are fantastic, Roger. The leather liners really adds to the project. I love the handles, too!

Roger these are great. Can you share your choice of finish and technique. I never seem to achieve an acceptable finish and yours looks really good.

Really cool boxes. The S shaped one is great. I tried a D once and it looked like crap.

Way cool, Roger! And the leather linings are definitely different - as you described: drawer bling.

Great bandsaw boxes, Roger! 8? It was just last week you did "5"! I, too, am interested in your finishing. I have bandsaw boxes that I have finished and refinished many times due to bad finishing techniques! Thanks for sharing.

Roger, these are great work. I like the look and the liners. You might also try Leatherhead. Bandsaw boxes are a departure from the turnings you have been doing. Thanks for the shout out on another recent post. Are you getting ready for St. James? I always enjoy seeing what you have made. Keep boxing and keep posting.
