My Sister wanted a game board to play checkers with her Grandson Tyler.
So I made two….One for me and one for her.
They are both made from the same boards of walnut and hard maple.
There is also an inlay of Purple Heart around the playing squares. The corners are also splined with maple.
I like the way they turned out different even though they came from the same boards.
One board has heart wood and the other has sap wood for the walnut.
I guess there may be a yin yang thing about it too.
The finish is Tung oil with three coats of poly.
Thanks for looking.
