I’m getting married on Sunday and my future wife wanted me to build something to put our vows in. We are both lushes so I Built a box to hold a bottle of blantons(and our vows). First time I’ve played with dovetails. Boy this woodworking stuff is a lot harder than it seems. I ran in to lots of complications. The woods are Maple and Sapele.

You say it’s hard, but what you made certainly looks like you’ve got it down pat! Great craftsmanship and congratulations to you and the future “Mrs. Woodworker”!

For a first effort, those dovetails look great!

The box looks very nice, and I like the wood combo you used.

Congratulations on tying the knot—have a little of the Blanton’s for us at the reception!

That is one massive dovetail to compliment a very nice box. Great work.

Nice. Dovetails look great and I like that you incorporated the ‘knot’.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)
