This is a picture of a craftsman calendar holder. Got the idea from a Popular Woodworking article and made some modifications. The rails, stiles, pencil holder at the bottom and top moldings are all made with qtr sawn white oak, back is 1/4 inch qtr white oak ply. Rails and stiles are connected with mortise and tenon joints. It was amonia fumed then topcoated with 5 coats of shellac. Finished with McGuires paste wax. I’ll post some more pics later – they are on another computer.
I also have a modified cherry version that has a different topper on it. I’ll post pics of that as well.
These were made as gifts. I made 10 of them at one time and they went over very well with all the recipients.
