I repurpose stuff. My sister purchased old house shutters from an antique store in Lake Placid NY and asked me to fabricate a queen size bed frame. I used 4 full shutters for the headboard and cut down 4 shutters for the footboard. The framing is made from poplar from my local sawmill. Finished in 2 coats of milk paint and one coat of matte acrylic glaze. I use a book and the Internet to make sure I met standard dimensions, but other than that I like to work on the fly..

Wow, impressive. So very nicely done and the ‘dressed’ bed really shows off the work well.

Very nice job.
I do like the black distressed look. (Partial to it because thats what I do)
Beautiful headboard and frame
