Crosses for neighbors

I made four of these crosses – three for neighbors as Christmas gifts, and the last one my Mom got…

Because of my lighting it is tough to tell in the first picture – but the same angle that is cut on the ends is cut on the face for visual effect. The second pic shows it some… To hang it I have used a key hole bit into the bottom of the maple spacer at the top of the cross.

The woods are Padauk, Wenge, and Maple. The finish is spray lacquer, two coats of gloss then one of satin.

This is really nice. I am getting ready to make a cross and possibly a new podium for my Pastor. I have been looking at different designs and such, this one is one of the nicest I’ve seen, great work.

Fantastic cross. Love the design. Great wood choices also.

Keep it up.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Huff,
I played with the Wenge that I got from you during our gathering, and liked the look and workability of it… Soooo… I went and purchased more to make these crosses and now have around 8 bf on hand for future projects.. ;-) Thanks!
