I finally finished our dining table. It took me quite a while but it turned out great.

The design idea my wife found on Ana White’s page. After looking at it and the build plans, I liked the look but not how it was put together. I used biscuits to join the table top (instead of pocket screws). I added breadboards which weren’t used on the plans from her site. Also I built the legs out of 4×6 beams instead of 2×4’s put together. The center upright on the legs are put together with mortise and tenon joints.

I stained the top a dark walnut and the legs are painted a grey color that was made with two different shades of grey. I wasn’t sure about the grey but I think it looks really nice with the dark top.

Enjoy. thanks for all the comments on my previous post of just the top.

Wow! That’s a great looking table and very well crafted. Looks like you could park a truck on it. LOL

Great job and I hope she doesn’t want to move it a lot.

Well done. Good choice on your modifications.
