This is a Television Stand that was completed on 9-10-2007. I didn’t completely build the piece. It was started by the husband of one of my customers. The customer I built the Bookcase/End Tables The Black Lacquer Bookcases for. Her husband passed away before competing them. After building the first project for her she asked if I would complete this one.
Basically the top, bottom, sides, and feet were already built and everything was ready to assemble. I just had to figure out how and where he was going to attach the sides and where the feet were going to go.
The top was very interesting. It had forty-five degree cut wide band on the top with a small wedge of wood between the miter. I don’t know if it had some sort of function or just decorative.
Overall it was a very rewarding project (not talking about money). I can see this means a lot to the customer and no project should be left incomplete.

Chris,
It’s great that you could finish this project for this customer. I’m sure it was greatly appreciated.

Nice work, Chris, and a nice gesture for your friend.
It something similar to this that prompted me to get into woodworking. My father was 2/3 through completing a blanket chest for my youngest daughter as a wedding present. He never got to finish it before the Lord took him home.
I found a man who knew my Dad and he volunteered to complete it. In my heart, I wished that I had the skills to do so, and it was this that turned my interest to woodworking.
