HARVEST TRAY

I designed and built this tray for our HARVEST ART & CRAFT SHOW **which is held every year in September . The tray is solid maple with a veneered walnut bottom (1/8”alnut veneer over 1/8” plywood .
I chose maple and walnut for this design to give the tray a fall color and the walnut providing a good contrasting background for item placed on it and the implied open weaving of the sides and handles seems to work well with the design and the prairie harvest .
I thought that this tray would be fitting and would be a nice addition to my display which will be voted on by the visitors by secret ballot . The show is a great event and well visited and has some exceptional talent from all types of art and an street market and runs for five days .

Please comment to let me know your opinion and thoughts .

Klaus

I think it’s great. The sheaves of wheat picture is the best and connotes HARVEST.

Klaus, you are on a roll with these rescent trays…..form….artistic, function….useful. I like the shape, the wood choices and the vented sides give the pieces a lighter feel.

Very nice. The handle joinery is attractive as well as functional.
Again your design is truly recognizable. You could post this anonymously and no one would be fooled. :-)

Wish you luck Klaus. The tray is absolutely beautiful. I have to add the wheat sets off the harvest theme. What does the book represent?

Awesome design with those wings and squared holes. Prety unique.
