Another 3 Motorbike from Woodworkingdownunder plans….

I was rather tired after yesterdays visitors BUT it was a good day.

This morning it was hydrotherapy then with a cold wet afternoon I decided to put the new Bosch Heated Jacket to the test; PASSED very well making the afternoons toymaking very pleasant…..

I needed to make a little THANK YOU for a mate so as I having some dressed cypress pine & spotted gum offcuts along with some 3/4’s done merbau wheels, a motorbike it was PLUS I already had the templates for the sides and centre….

I used Tony Slattery’s plans he did a few years back though I didn’t see the old ones on his website Wooden Toy Plans – Discover the joy of making wooden toys. ; maybe he’s replaced it with the new “bat-bike” plan….

I made a modification to Tony’s original plan in that I added two 1/4” dowels through the centre of the bike for easy of holding it together….

You can see the dowel in the photos; plus I used 5/16” dowel for the wheel axles to ensure it was little boy or girl proof….

The sides are the Cypress Pine; the centre/body is the Spotted Gum
and the wheels are Merbau with Tassie Oak dowels…..

The whole bike is approx 8” long and 3” high with 3-4 coats of Gloss Clear

Anyways ladies & gents, a fun little project only taking a couple of hours in the shed plus the wheel making…

Then 3 is better than 1 and I do have my youngest grandson’s 2nd birthday coming up next month.

So one as a gift for a mate, one to a lady at the local Neighbourhood Centre who is in charge of us volunteers and one for the grandson….all done!!

Cheers, crowie

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention the plans are free….

Again nice work there.

BTW did you win the jacket as a result in entering “The Sandpaper Man”s current contest?

Better post a review when you get a moment.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
