This is a prototype deck for some friends that want me to tear out their old deck and replace it. The image was done in 3Dstudio Max. I also wrote a VB9 program to calculate the most efficient way to lay out the deck boards along with the most efficient length to have the least amount of waste, and use the least amount of boards. The images of the house, I took samples of ans measurements to make everything to scale.

Cool, can’t wait to see the end result!

Here’s your chewing ren. Please, there are other places on the site to post “plans”. Let’s keep the “completed woodworking projects” here. You did click the link that said “This is a completed woodworking project” didn’t you? Hmmm….

Best,

The second story seems a little silly without a door into the house. I’m just not sure why any one would want to climb those stairs, up or down…......?

and whats with the barrels ?..........seems an odd place for a rain barrell.

Looking forward to seeing it completed.

They wanted the rain barrels, and they were going to convert that upstairs window into a doorway. They ended up having me redo the plans with just a single story and a metal roof on the screen room. Sorry about posting in the wrong spot. Where is the plans section?

I, for one, have no problem with “plans” unbuilt being here in the projects area. In fact I feel that a plan can be a project in and of itself. I have worked at SketchUp models that were harder to do than the build out.

That said, there’s a forum topic http://lumberjocks.com/forums/8 that is specifically for designing.

You might also benefit from posting things like this as a blog.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, this deck was complete, because they never went ahead with it…they were afraid the neighbors would complain about zoning, so this is as completed as it is gonna get.
