Simple Side table

We needed a side board for our new garden room. Instead of buying one, why not build one. It could not take me more than a weekend…..
My idea was to build a sideboard that matched our maritime style. Off to the woodshop to find some usable pieces. I did not have a drawing, more than in my head, but it turned out OK. The biggest problem is to find good furniture wood here in Sweden. You have to dry it extra, with the risk of twisted wood. I don’t yet own a jointer, but it’s high on my Christmas wish list.
Top is treated with vinegar and steelwool. Legs and shelf painted in satin white. Some rookie errors, but nothing that can’t be fixed afterwards. Well, and time spent. Three weekends instead of one. Can you blame too good weather??

Very good fit to this space. I like the contrasting colours.

It’s a very nice looking table. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.
