Star gazing

Hi

Here is a recently completed bandsawn box.

There are two storage compartments, the drawer in the base section and a lidded cavity at the top (kept in place by the use of magnets). The timber is Australian Red Cedar. And yes, it was fun to make!

Tony
I’ve been looking at your stuff for a long time.
I got your free plans.

Your ability to pick up the finer points in the wood and emphasize them as you make these boxes just amazes me.

Would that i were that talented.

Tony, you keep re-inventing the genre. Fantastic work, Mate!

Extraordinary. Beautifully sculpted piece. Was the intent to make a tiki god? It certainly looks similar in the 2nd photo.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

Bob, no I did not set off to make a tiki ?, rather a star gazing rabbit. However as in all sculptural works people see different things, often it is that response which adds to the energy to create something different, perhaps next time the tiki object will be the inspiration?
