I found this interesting chunk of log and proceeded to hollow it out and split it and add a few items such as
windows, stairs, a second and third story because I have a few great grand daughters that my daughter wants
to entertain. I used my Husky 455 chainsaw to give it a rough hollowing out, then after splitting it I used a
King Arthur Lancelot cutter on my grinder to smooth it out somewhat. I decided on a modified post and
beam interior floor support and added an outside stairway for the second floor. The third floor consists of
an observatory deck and a garret. Since garrets are usually inhabited by the poor-such as poets, artists or
kids with no money, a ladder was deemed sufficient access. I installed a slate floor in the kitchen for a wood
cooking stove, but a great grand daughter did not know what that was, and another informed me that no one
uses them. The floor did have to stay. It is in the rough scale of 1 to 12 or 1 inch equals 1 foot. I am merely
the contractor and have received a few hugs, kisses and smiles as overpayment. My daughter and her little
helpers are going to decorate, furnish and make whatever improvements are necessary. I have only one
not so small problem, I have more children and must find more interesting logs quickly.
