I got tired of all the buckets of cut off’s on the floor all over the shop under all of the tables etc. This is from a single 4×8 sheet of 3/4” ply left over from a project. It’s essentially styled after the racks I use in the kitchens where I always tell cooks to “store in the vertical” and it gets the horizontal surfaces clear. Set of HD casters I salvaged off of an oven headed to scrap & now I’ve got something to store the odd bits and pieces, sorted by species. I’ve also started deciding when the cut off is first in hand if it’s worth keeping, and that habit has helped quite a bit but all the s’mores I make with the kids when I burn the cut offs are making me fat

Good idea, looks great. I am sure many of us suffer from not wanting to save every piece no matter how small.

You might find you want a back on it as it is on wheels. My luck would be I hit a cord or some other object and shook it enough to send cut offs all over the flloor

I might start drilling a hole in all my cutoffs so I can store them hanging from the ceiling.

WBN – Yeah, the original thought was to back it but there seems to be alot of pieces that fit better by hanging over a bit on both sides, id doesn’t get rolled around too much but I have put something in only to knock stuff out the back…

Garrey – that’s a thought, then I could call it art and let people pay to get to look at it maybe…LOL

Great shop project! Word of advice – don’t pickup wood turning, particular pen turning. Every piece at least 3/4” x 4” becomes a usable cut off. I have a drawer that has hundreds of cutoffs that I cut to size for pen blanks. Something I picked up partly to have a use for cutoffs has made me hoard even more!!
