Four Shaker Tables I made out of cherry with soft maple drawers. Tops are made from Curly Cherry and are hand planed for a luxoriuos texture that you can feel when you rub your hand over it yet you can’t detect with your eye. Drawers were made with handcut half blind dovetails.

I really like the beveled affect at bottom of table edge. Great way to have thicker top, but not look like a butcher block.

Steve.

Hi Bibb,

I bought 1/2” thick maple from my lumber supplier and only that section of the board had wavy grain. The rest of the drawers are regular maple.

These are really nice tables. I love the style and I particularily enjoy the look of cherry and maple in combination.

What kind of finish did you put on the tables?
