This is a media cabinet I finished up today. All the cherry is from a local harvest and is of the same flitch. I was able to bookmatch the top and all the panels. The finish is a Minwax stain with wipe on poly that was rubbed out and waxed. It is part of a commissioned set, the coffee table is a day behind on the finish schedule. Hope to deliver by Friday. Details are in walnut. The square pegs in the breadboard end are purely decorative. The hardware is solid bronze with a pewter finish.
For any interested I have a complete series of pics and info of the entire build of the two pieces on my EFCabineture Facebook fan page. Please sign up if you check it out.

This is a nice piece of furniture, Rhett. It has an interesting design and the walnut accents were a nice touch.

This piece is great, and right on time. I am scheduled to start one very similar this weekend for my most important ( and only client). My wife. It will be my large piece of furniture. Mine will be pine and get distressed and painted because that is what the customer likes. One question I have, how do you get the shelf holes to line up perfect. I was considering using a piece of pegboard I have as a template. Any suggestions? I am going to check out your facebook in just right now.

Nice work there,

I really like the tone you ended up with on this piece, very warm, but not too dark, very natural effect.

I understand you used a Minwax stain, could you tell me which one specifically?

Good work on this, very clean design. The cherry and walnut combination is a different mix for G & G.

Fletchs, I am fortunate to own a horizontal line borer, so the holes were lined up for me.

Paul, It is called Gunsmoke. I am really happy with the color. I usually do not stain anything, especially cherry, but the couple picked it off the stainboard.
