My daughter texted me and said she wanted to me to bring a yarn bowl, I was very busy getting ready for this two month trip, but though if my daughter was taking up knitting I would take the time and make her a knitting bowl that would knock her socks off. My oldest daughter knits like a house on fire…. Well come to find out later it was for her friend CANDY. Anyway I thought the streaks and bright colors would be neat and go well with colorful yarn. I wanted to try the metod I used on the last project anyway, I still had some leftover dye. Its abit bright and shocking.
I did it all on the lathe this time. Here is a couple of construction photo’s before the finish.

While I was at it I finished up a smaller natural colored one in case the colored one was too much, but I guarantee she would never find another one like it.

I am on my way to volunteer at a repair and building project in oregon and visiting a number of friends and family, so I wiped a a number of French rolling pins. I can make them fast and they make great Thankyou gifts, especially to the cook at the youth camp.

Thanks for looking and comments are appreciated even though my last project was of this idea, but you may see more. I found a whole kit of printer ink that I though I had thrown way.

PS. The colored towel that the pictures where taken on wasa gift of appreciation from the lady I gave the first knitting bowl that I made.

Nice job on the bowls Brian. I’m wondering if you will move the lathe indoors for the winter.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Nice. Maybe she will want it just because you made it.

-- Nature created it, I just assemble it.
