I’ve seen several drill press tables on this website recently and now I have completed my own. I also made a similar mortising machine table. Both tables are made with 3/4 oak plywood glued to 1/2 MDF with solid oak trim on the front and both sides. I also made a couple of “goodies”. The second picture shows a jig that I attach to the fence to give me good support for drilling into the ends of tall items (e.g. blank for a pepper grinder). In the 3rd picture you will see a block of wood with a plate for the Kreg hold down clamp attached. I can secure this into the table with a couple of threaded inserts I put in the table. In the 6th picture you can see the same block of wood secured to the mortising table with 2 clamps. The 4th picture illustrates the provision for wooden inserts.
This was not high quality craftsmanship – but it works quite well that is really what matters.
