Project Information

I am a music teacher at a high school where I live in New Jersey and I carry a lunch with me every day. Needless to say my old cheapo lunch box was gerring considerably beddraggled.

I saw at Lowe's a nice board in the "pine shelving" part of the store. The grain was very nice and wasn't too heavy weight wise. Couple of dovetails and some cherry accents to hold the hinges and handle from a pallet ai thought worked quite nicely.

I wanted to maximize the storage but not have to sacrifice space so I split th box in half, drilled a hole part way through one corner, and fit a gutter spike in that is epoxied to the top part of the box to act as a swivel.

Insulation I'm not worried about as I have access to a refrigerator at school to put things to keep cold when I get there.

Dimensions: 7 and 3/4 " high by 12" long.

Thanks for looking.

What? No secret chamber for the things your wife don't want you to eat?? Looks good. I am wondering why you didn't put the sliding part on the bottom section?

I know Kaleb, I have been on this secret compartment kick for a few years and just can't shake it off. Nice thing about the box is its insulating effect that far exceed the cheapo plastic ones I use.

Very cool. It also helps promote our craft to others.
