I built this shelf so that guests who come in through our front door have a place other than the floor for their coats. It’s made from pine, with poplar dowels. Joined with pocket screws. The holes for the dowels are drilled at around a 15 degree angle. The shelf is finished with stain, and a few coats of wipe on poly. To hang it, I incorporated key-hole slots into the back. I thought it needed some classing up for my wife, so I added the bowling trophies :) She hasn’t removed them… yet. Thanks for looking.

Pretty nifty! I’ll have to admit this is something I need to do for our entryway as well for guests.
