Here’s a picture frame project I made for a friend when his father passed away last fall. The frame is black walnut and maple with ebony splines.

The frames contents is a copy of the lyrics to a Reba Mcentire song entitled “The Greatest Man I Never Knew”.

Very nice frame – the contrasting woods are a good choice..

Thanks for sharing.

Kevin, this is a nice looking frame. It made a wonderful gift for your friend and I am sure it was well appreciated.

I really enjoyed the wood choice as well.

Stunning looking frame & yes the wood chooses are excellent.
If I was to do this frame with the woods you used I would have envisioned in my mind to go with the darker (walnut) on the outer surface but I see that the way you did it is a better choice.

The only reason I would have done it with the darker wood on the out side is because I did not think of it till I seen yours.

Do you have a bit of a plan or picture of how you did the individual built up moldings?
I would love to see & do some myself.

Dan

Very, very nice work. A fitting tribute and a heartfelt gift as well.
