Created this project as an Xmas 2008 gift for a good friend. His main hobby is refinishing / improving his actual 1908 Ford Model T, which I also helped rebuild the wooden frame of (pics and project to be posted later to LJ).

I found some plans in a book for a Toy Model T and fired up the scrollsaw!

The entire car is made from poplar and lightly sprayed with a poly sealer.

The only moving parts on the car is the wheels, which do roll rather nicely. The fenders were the main challenge as they are really brittle – broke three of them before I got two good ones!

This was one of those projects where it all is worth it once you see the reaction on the face of the person you give it to – priceless! To see a man in his 50’s get all choked up is a great thing. :-)

Neat project. And the best part it is NOT a kit. I am sure your friend will love it.
