What a challenge!!!??
A lot of elements coming into play with this piece of wood. Colour, growth rings, bark, splits, branches, etc. The wood was sure talking to me with this carving. I don’t know who won the argument but here is the boot. I hope you enjoy it.
Regards,
The Bootman!.

I think there is no piece of wood that you can’t make a boot out of, I will have to send you a piece of funny looking wood and see the transformation.

I showed all your projects to a friend of mine. His reaction was: ” Is he crazy? But they’re very nice ”. I said ” We’re all crazy, that’s why we make nice things “

Roman, is that the Caragana that I remember as a kid being used as hedges? It had yellow flowers and produced pods that you could make whistles out of.
Boots are harder than whistles I guess though….
Nice one on this challenging piece.

Yes Paul, it is that caragana that is used as hedges, and has yellow flowers and seed pods that snap open when ripe and scatter the seeds.
Sam, i have been reminded that I do fly off the wall sometimes. but what a trip!
