This was my first chessboard I finished up last week. It was for a friend from the old neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and was made from Birdseye maple, Padauk and Wenge.
The playing surface was 16”x16” . The hardwood squares were a lil less than1/8” thick and glued to 1/2” ply, The frame was 2” x 5/4 Padauk with a rabbitt for the board.
It was topped off With some oil poly home brew.
-- Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on.
