I’ve made a few of these now with different variations of the Texas flag. Just used some cheap construction grade 2×6 from Home Depot which was planed down to about 1.25” thick. I stained three pieces with colored stain because I like to be able to see wood grain instead of paint! Once stained the were laminated together, then I traced out the state shape and cut away on my band saw. Finally, I burned the star in then took my propane torch and scorched the wood. My unit has a pretty cool military coin so I’m going to imbed the coin into the plaque and start making them for people when they depart my unit.
