A work friend had a table and chairs she used when she was a kid. She is now a grandmother of 2 and wants her grandchildren to have a place to sit and play when they are over. I am happy she saved it and got it refinished as opposed to throwing it out and buying a new one from ikea.
I sanded down all surfaced, repaired a few cracks, stabilized some areas, repainted the legs, and added new feet. A simple project I did to help get my name out there. Word of mouth is the best advertisement.
I tried to match what seemed to be the original finish. 3 coats of Bullseye Amber Shellac, 4 coats of semi-gloss poly, and a fifth coat on the table top. This table should last long enough for the grandchildren to give to their kids. Sidenote: My new drum sander came in very handy for this project!
