“The lost Stickley”. I got the design from Popular Woodworking.

Any way:
Q white oak
drawer sides, back, and bottom is rock maple
hand cut hidden dove tales
drawer shelf poplar
mortise and tenon joints
draw shelf is screwed to sides.
top is held down with 4 figure eight fasteners from wood craft.
there is space behind a half wall. You can just make it out(pic 1).

this was made for my brother. When I brought it up he said Wow, gave me a manly huge, paused. Then said “where is the other one”?

Thank you Lumber Jocks fore the help.

That’s a terrific build. Those dovetails are crisp. Excellent post.

Excellent! Well done. I’m always interested in how the finer projects (like this one) is finished. Can you comment on the finish you used?

Well Done, especially the hand done dovetails. This is the design I’ve been looking for. I need to build 2 tables for our den, and will be using alder instead of oak, to match the rest of the room. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice form. I like the contrasting wood in the drawer which makes the dovetail stand out. How much space is behind the half wall? Looks like a great place to stash cash.

The finish is i guess a old recipe:

fumming (19hrs)
mineral spirits and tar mix wipe on let set then rub in. (2 coats and used black jack roofing tar.)
amber shellac thinned (2 coats)
blond shellac to build up the finsh.
wax rub out with soften brown bag.
fumming fumming

thank you fore the comments this piece did push me. the side view would revile the splayed legs front and back(3.8deg) so this in it self made room for mistakes. I have never made hidden dove tails, but on a angel gave me more to think about ! mesure 5 times cut ones.
