So I recently went on a trip to Disneyland, and after having such an amazing time I decided I wanted to take a piece home with me, so I decided to re-create the Silly Symphony sign in Disney California Adventure!
I re-created the graphics using photoshop and iDraw.
I then created the sign using some extra pieces of pine and plywood I had lying around the shop. This project also gave the opportunity to use my new toy I got, the Makita track saw (which is awesome!)
Putting the sign together was just a matter of using spray adhesive on the blown up image to the plywood and chopping to size. Then cutting and dadoing the side framing pieces and gluing and nailing it all together!
This was also the first time I used a french cleat to hang to picture on the wall, which was really good too. Although I DID glue the cleat on backwards at first and had to redo it!
Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!
Video on it being made!
