After research of boat construction, I began to play with veneers and strips of wood, called strakes in boat making. The utensils are a pair of examples of the forms that I was able to create. The vessel design was a problem that I assigned myself after creating the utensils. I made a vessel form that complimented the design of the utensils.

Hey Hans, another good one. Have you looked into the contest we’re having here. That duality thing might just fit into the contest pretty well. It’s a yin yang contest. Just a thought.
