“Lace of the Summer” hand carved wooden box.

Box material: linden (basswood).

Box sizes:
Length: 19 cm (7,48”), width: 10 cm (3,94”), height: 5 cm (1,97”).

Finish: Danish oil, box is lined with thick felt and lace.

Technique: chip carving.

FancyChip, maybe you could do a short tutorial or video about chip carving.
When I saw my first chip carver, over 30 years ago, it was hard to stop watching as he knew exactly what he was carving as if it just went from his mind to his hands.

quick question for you … do you think it would be easier to do this on a flat piece …. instead of after box is built ?
