Everyone I deal with seems to have some amount of scrap wood. One person gave me some fairly high quality quarter inch plywood, maple, walnut, and oak facing. I took it in with no idea what to with it. Then someone else wanted a little free library and had a variety of scrap wood.
The nice quarter inch ply I laminated to the C side of the AC ply. Some thrown out treated balusters became the corner trim pieces. The bits cut out for those rabbets were used as facings for the plywood shelves.
I did buy some quarter round and the post, but otherwise a good bit of happy wood saved from the dump.

Nice job on that library. I always keep the scraps too. I’m using some right now for a pump enclosure.

You sure put that wood to good use! That is a nice piece of workmanship, too!!

I love the idea of a neighborhood free library, and yours is a fine example! And great use of the scraps—much better than firewood!
