This is made with a scrap of walnut and 5/8 red oak dowels. All summer my fishing pole has been in the way. I looked up fishing pole holders on Amazon and didn’t like the prices I was seeing. So I ran out to the shop and made this. The weight of the rod creates a counter clockwise moment about the bottom right dowel, driving the finger grip into the top left dowel. It doesn’t move even when the door is slammed.

Genius, pure genius. I will be making some of these for my son’s rods.
