Marking Knife, Bird Cage Awl and Burnisher. I purchased this kit from Czeck Edge after seeing them on Matt’s Basement Workshop. The handles were made from Arbutus and finished with some wax. The kit was very good and instructions were easy to follow. This was a fun project that I was able to finish in one evening. I’m going to keep them for myself and look forward to using them.

Great job.
Was the wood hard to work and do you know of a source for it?
About the wood you used.

Quote from the above link:
“Not only does the wood darken in color from a creamy white to a reddish brown but you can find purples and deep dark red, almost black, that is as hard as the hardest woods in the world”.

It wasn’t hard to work with. As for the source, just lucky, got it from a guy who had to cut some down on his property on Vancouver Island.
