FireSong Flute #031 completed just before Christmas. It is Mahogany. I made this one a new and different shape, a slightly flattened hexagon. I have made octagon a few times but never hex. I really like the feel. I’ve looked at thousands of flutes on the web but have never seen this shape. It is Pentatonic tuning with root note of G. The ivy vine down both sides is burned in with leaves colored with colored pencil made for woodburning use. I’ll carve a better ‘bird’ for it soon as I can. This is my best one yet, real sweet, mellow tone. Probably took around 20 hours or so to complete and tune. Getting real busy with work right now but can barely wait to do another one this shape.

Nice job, a far cry from the whistles I make for kids.
