This is a clock I made to enter a contest in Wood Magazine, in the year 2000. It was sponsored by the United States Marines. They held a sale with all the entry’s, & the proceeds went towards the ”Toys for Tots” fund.
I didn’t win a prize, but I had a lot of fun making it.
It was sold for about $125.00, & I haven’t the slightest idea who the purchaser is, or where it ended up. Maybe someone will see this, and I may someday find out it’s new home.
It’s made of a variety of wood, & It stands about 30” tall

Very imaginative, Dick. Is this your own design? What kind of wood did you use, and how was it finished?

Excellent, I really like that. It gives me an Idea for a gift for my son. He is into Guitars and would love something like that. Did you buy a pattern or just free hand it ?

Thanks Guys,
I had the plans for a Fender Telecaster in a Popular Mechanics Magazine, & reduced the size by 1/2. It has a Tongue Oil finish. I later made a full size Guitar for my son. Look for it in my projects on Lumberjocks.
Notice, I added some images.

I tried searching for plan from PM magazine, with no luck. Maybe somebody out there on LBJ. knows how, & where to search. I know there’s a way, but I can’t find it.

Dick,
This is what I found when searching for your plan:
How to custom-build your own solid-body electric guitar. Design is based on the classic Fender Telecaster, but features several improvements.
POPULAR MECHANICS Sep 1990 (v.167#9) pg. 43
Boy you’re a busy guy!!!!

Thanks Joe,
I was getting worried about you, I thought you may have been buried in that bad October snow storm. We’re getting some freaky rain this morning.
I found the magazine on ebay. If someone wants it for $4.99.
