Not sure about the wood. It is obviously a type of rosewood but neither my supplier or myself are positive of the exact species. None the less it’s absolutely lovely to work with. Finished this peice down as fine as we could go. The picture shows a bit of a rough spot on the clock lense, this is protective plastic. This was a gift for a dear friend that helped my family while I was having surgery recently.

Finish is three coats of poly with three coats of beeswax deeply buffed in over the top for an easy restore when the fingerprints build up.

Now I just need an excuse to make more watches. It was a fun project, simple but satisfing.

As for the wood, if I’m wrong and you know the species let me know as there is more of it laying out here.

Great job! as for the type of wood, I find names sometimes get turned around with the S American varieties to suit the buyer. Just enjoy it’s beauty.

The chain and watchworks came seperately from Woodcraft. I have seen them other places on the net as well.
